June 2nd (Evening Edition)

No pictures tonight and a different poster to the blog...

Tonight we got off to somewhat of a late start (around 10ish or so) and sort of took the same approach we did last night: walking around somewhat aimlessly to soak in a new part (to us of course as most of these buildings are like 300-400 years old) of the city. We went out with Paul, Christie, and Brian tonight. Our travels took us on an easterly trek with the first stop being St. Paul's Cathedral. Talk about a huge structure in which seemingly no expense was spared! There was no one around and so we had tons of unobstructed views of the cathedral and stopped outside of it for about ten minutes to take in the enormity yet attention to detail paid to every aspect. After continuing on we ended up in some of the more desolate parts of the city, including one section that could be appropriately labeled as the Lower-Wacker of London. Christina wondered aloud why Ed didn't take us to these spots during our walk last night. We also found out tonight that there are in fact homeless people in London. While following the Thames Walk (along the Thames of course), we heard music playing around a corner we were coming up upon. One of the last things I expected to see was a homeless guy, but there he was hanging out, chillin' to some tunes. Christina noted how we cannot get our radio to work but this guy can manage it. Anyway, our travels took us back by St Paul's (we cut over at the Millennium Bridge) to ensure we stopped by the 24 quick mart to pick up some snacks. All in all, it was a really fun night out walking around seeing things without the crowds of other foreigners jamming things up. That's it for now, we'll post tomorrow!
