Oxford Street, Soho and the Embankment

From our post to God's ears! Yesterday was our first day of prolonged sunshine. (And today, too!)
(space)
So we did some ad hoc-ing... When we left the British museum, we decided to hop on the bus. Any bus. Louis was a bit nervous, but then he realized he was with me and felt safe. We ended up taking the bus uptown, then hopped off and walked around. I realized I was allergic to the area we were in (the sneezes), so we jumped on the tube and went to another area....

We ended up window shopping down Oxford Street, which is renowned for its plentiful stores. Mixed in with its various UK boutique stores were American Apparel, H&M, Urban Outfitters - All places you can go to in the US pretty easily and at less cost. However, perhaps it's unique to Oxford Street you can grab some dim sum in between stores. (That's where my craving for Chinatown hit me.)

Oxford Street

We decided to make a walk of it, and hoof it back to our place... We carried on down Oxford til we hit Berners, which led us to our Chinatown experience on Garrett Street.

Smoking is forbidden indoors here. However, most restaurants have a sign welcoming customers to hang on the outdoor doorstep and sidewalk to smoke as you please. This also means you can bring your drinks out with you and everyone just has a grand ol' time whooping it up. (In the no-fun US they call this loitering and public drunkenness.) This also means passers-by are constantly walking through a cloud of haze as they walk down the narrow streets. The whole scene has a street festival feeling every night here... very loud and boisterous and carefree.

Berners Street ... Mostly male population outside this bar... I think this is common around the Soho area.

Strand Street

Louis walks the skinny down the Victoria Embankment. What a b-a.

Along the Thames

Some thing will never change, even in London.
